Marcus P. Soper, BCO, FCLSA

Mr. Soper formally entered the ophthalmic industry in 1977 as an apprentice contact lens technologist / Ocularist. He is Owner and Director of Prosthetics and Clinical Services, actively engaged in fitting contact lenses and ocular prosthetics at Soper Brothers and Associates in Houston, Texas. He has special interests in the cosmetic restoration of unsightly eyes, the adverse effects to the surface quality of contact lenses and ocular prosthetics, and the topographical changes of the cornea induced by contact lenses, surgical procedures and systemic disease.

Mr. Soper is a Board Certified Ocularist, Fellow Member of the American Society of Ocularist, and a Fellow Member of the Contact Lens Society of America. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Ocularist, the Contact Lens Society of Texas, the Opticians Association of Texas and the Contact Lens Society of America. Mr. Soper is a past president of the American Society of Ocularist and the Contact Lens Society of America.

Mr. Soper has served as Educational Chairman of the American Society of Ocularist and in the same capacity for the Contact Lens Society of Texas. During his presidency he founded and has served as Chairman of the Contact Lens Society of America University an online educational site used worldwide for contact lens education.
​
He has authored, co-authored and edited numerous publications and presentations. He was a staff instructor at the annual Baylor College of Medicine Contact lens Technology Course from 1978-1990 and has lectured extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico in the fields of contact lens technology and ocular prosthetics.

Mark, his wife Marsha, sons Marcus and Marshall reside in Houston and are very active in numerous civic and charitable organizations.
Kendahl Quimby, BCO

Kendahl Quimby is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and alumnus of Louisiana State University, having majored and minored in Biological Sciences and Sociology, respectively. She was an active participant in LSU’s premedical society Alpha Epsilon Delta, and is an alumnus member of the Delta Kappa chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Ms. Quimby has been a practicing Ocularist since 2007 at Soper Brothers & Associates, where she received both her American Society of Ocularists diplomate and National Examining Board of Ocularists board certification in 2013. She was also the 2013 Joseph LeGrand Lecture Award recipient, where she was invited to be the keynote lecture at the annual Medical Advisory Seminar given by the ASO and the American Academy of Ophthalmologists.

She has served on many ASO committees, including Education, Advertising for the Journal of Ophthalmic Prosthetics, Exhibitor Chair, and the Board of Directors. She served as Vice President of the ASO and as President for the 2020-2022 term.
Claudia Castro

Claudia M. Castro is the Director of Client Services. She has been managing the office since 1995. Claudia delivers a positive patient experience as the patient advocate. She coordinates and facilitates consultation appointments between new patients or the referring physician’s offices. She assists patients on the best financial plan for their current and future procedures. She will identify patient’s medical insurance benefits and provide a detail understanding of their coverage. And most importantly, Claudia takes pride in assisting patients to obtain their fullest reimbursement from their medical insurance. She has been called the “Bulldog” of medical insurances by her patients which she finds as a compliment.

Claudia values the close relationships she’s developed with long time patients. It has been a pleasure seeing them grow up since 1995. She has laughed, cried and celebrated many lifetime events through the years with them. “Eye enjoy seeing my Soper family growing up.”

Claudia embraces her Latin roots. She loves the music, food and culture. She enjoys the visits from patients traveling from all of Latin America, which is quite frequent. Claudia is bilingual and readily able to assist our Spanish-speaking patients. (Claudia habla Espanol y esta lista para traducir a quien necesite assistencia).

When Claudia is off the clock she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and doggies. Claudia finds pleasure in many therapeutic activities such as cooking up a new recipe, working on home projects, working out, meditating, and working on jigsaw puzzles. She is a firm believer of taking care of yourself spiritually, mentally and physically. “You gotta love yourself first in order to love and serve others.”
